GrandHavenWaterfront.com is an independent guide to waterfront living in the Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Ferrysburg, and Fruitport area. Its purpose is educational: to explain how this water works, what the rules are, and what anyone living here or moving here should verify for themselves. This page describes the standards every page on the site follows.

Sourcing

Technical, legal, and statistical claims are verified against primary sources before they publish: ordinance text, federal regulations, county records, and the responsible agency's or organization's own publications. Aggregator sites and search summaries are used for discovery only, never as the basis for a published fact. When a primary source does not answer a question, the page says so plainly rather than filling the gap with a guess.

Facts that can change, such as fees, schedules, and ordinance provisions, are framed with the date they were checked. Prices and rate sheets are linked at the operator's own document rather than quoted, so a stale number on this site cannot mislead you. Regulations are summarized for their practical point and linked at the official text; the official text always controls.

Photography

Photographs on this site are taken by the author from public vantage points. Edits are limited to modest brightness and color adjustments; nothing is added, removed, or staged. Location metadata is stripped before publishing. No stock photography and no AI-generated imagery appear on content pages.

Updates and corrections

Content pages carry a visible "Last reviewed" date, which is updated when the substance of a page changes. If you find an error, use the contact page and point to a source if you can. Reported errors are checked against the primary source and corrected on the page itself.

Independence

This site carries no advertising, accepts no sponsorships, and has no financial relationship with any business, organization, or property mentioned on its pages.
